    SUMMARY

    The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for directing the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices as well as the relationship with leading institutions, shareholders, and the financial community by performing the flowing duties personally or through subordinate managers.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

     

    Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge / quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative / motivation, cooperation / relationships, problem analysis / discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral / written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability / dependability, flexibility and ownership / accountability of actions taken.

     

    Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, real estate, and long range forecasting activities for the organization.

     

    Directs the controller in providing and directing procedures and computer applications systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.

     

    Appraises the organizations’ financial position and issues periodic reports on the organizations’ financial stability, liquidity and growth.

     

    Directs and coordinates the establishment of budget programs.

     

    Coordinates tax reporting programs and investor relations activities.

     

    Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.

     

    Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the corporation’s annual report.

     

    Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business and financial conditions and their impact on the organization’s policies and operations.

     

    Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution, and determines their financial impact.

     

    Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities.

     

    Establishes and maintains contacts with stockholders, financial institutions and the investment community.

     

    Includes staff in planning, decision making, facilitating and process improvement, takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities, makes self accessible to staff, provides regular performance feedback, develops subordinates’ skills and encourages growth, solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external), fosters quality focus in others, improves processes, products and services and continually works to improve supervisory skills.

     

    Understands business implications of decisions, displays orientation to profitability, demonstrates knowledge of market and competition and aligns work with strategic goals.

     

    Works within approved budge, develops and implements cost saving measures, contributes to profits and revenue and conserves organizational resources.

    Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, plans for additional resources, sets goals and objectives, organizes or schedules other people and their tasks and develops realistic action plans.

     

    Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

     

    Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. 

     

    Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers.  Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources.  Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

     

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    Master’s Degree, CPA, or equivalent and fifteen (15) years related experience or training. Five (5) years Government Contracting experience and five (5) years’ experience with Financing, Banking, and Debt agreements.

     

    CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

    Certified Public Accountant

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
